| More Info | The holiday’s are upon us and you know what that means… Gorging your self on food, food and more food! So we’ll be kicking it off right with our November edition of the Western ‘Burbs Man B Que. So loosen that belt one or two notches, grab your favorite recipe, a six pack of your favorite brew and bring a new friend. Scott “Wagons North” Broaddus has opened up his home to us. He makes the long trek each month for us, so we’re returning the favor.Directions: Head North, if you get to Wisconsin, you’ve gone so far. |
Recipe of the Month: “Cajun Style Bacon Wrapped Shrimp”

Serves: 6 Preparation time: 30 min Cooking time: 10min
Ingredients
- Mix together;1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Melted Butter2 tblsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 tblsp Lemon Juice
2 tblsp Louisiana Hot Sauce
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 tsp Fresh Grated Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Ground Thyme
2 cloves Fresh Minced Garlic
Method
Peel & clean 1 1/4 pounds of Jumbo Shrimp (leave tails on) – I usually use 5/# because 1 strip of bacon fits nicely, but smaller shrimps will work if you cut your bacon strips in half.
Marinate shrimp in sauce for 1 hour in the fridge.
Wrap shrimp with bacon and skewer.
BBQ or Broil 5 min. each side.
Brush on finishing sauce (see below) and cook 1 additional minute.
Finishing sauce:
Bring remaining marinade mixture to a slow boil & cook for 1-2 minutes.
Reduce to a simmer and add;
2 tbsp honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
Continue to simmer on low, constantly stirring, until brown sugar is melted.
Remove from heat and add;
2 tbsb Mayonnaise
Blend until smooth.
